This article highlights how to properly format a hard drive using a Windows-based operating system on an Helix network video recorder. To format the hard drive, you will need to access the user interface (web UI) for your device via laptop or PC. Step 1: Open a web browser and log into your device. For more information on how to access the web user interface (web UI) for your device, click here.
Step 2: Navigate to Settings>>Storage>>HDD Manage. Select the hard drive you want to format in the interface and click Format.
Step 3: Click OK and allow the NVR to format the hard drive.
After the hard drive is formatted all data/recordings etc. will be removed from the drive. The status will also be normal indicating its ready for use in your NVR.
