Face Recognition is a built-in AI feature that is used to locate and determine facial similarities detected by the system. Images are registered in a face library, by the user, and accessed using the face recognition smart search tool that is built into the NVR. This feature is controlled by the camera and is not a built-in feature within the NVR. For more information on how to use face recognition please refer to the information provided below.
Before enabling face recognition, please make sure the face detection option is enabled in the AI multi-target menu. For more information on the AI Multi-Target menu, click here.
Step 1: Log into the NVR directly or using the NVR's web user interface (web UI). For more information on how to access the web UI for your device, click here.
Step 2: To begin using face recognition you will need to create a database of face images. This will allow the NVR to detect and register facial similarities. To create a database, click on AI>>Archives Library and click Add. Enter the details of the image and click the "+" icon to import a picture or multiple pictures into the database of images.
Step 3: Navigate to Settings>>IVS>>Face Recognition. Select the Edit icon the Operate menu of the channel you are configuring.
Step 4: To register a face library to the NVR, in the Register tab, select Enable Comparison, and select Display comparison results. Ensure the Face Library you configured previously is selected, if using the default library, ensure it is enabled. Enable the Enable Alarm option. This will ensure all face recognition events can be searched and found in the Events tab of the Smart Search menu when searching for a face recognition event. Click OK.
The detected face or faces will be provided in real-time in the target snapshot interface on the live view menu once it is detected along with an accuracy percentage as per the registered image in the system.
All other faces will register as a stranger within the system if the facial image is not recognized by the camera.
Step 3: To view all face events captured by the NVR, click on the Smart Search (AI) option in the main interface of the NVR and select the face icon ( ) and click Search. This will provide a list of all facial events detected and retained in the NVR. Select the event you want to view. A list of attributes including the similarity percentage of the facial recognition event will be provided.
Note: Select the play button in the Video section of the event to view the recorded event.
